Let’s Give Back
Boomerang Sports was founded with the intention of providing the community a service that was needed, and a store with deals only found on-line, and to help local and other organizations we believe in.
Here are a few of the local origination’s we support, and work with:
SSWSC
Friends of the Yampa
Hocky Organization
We are proud to participate in the Free Wheels program here in Steamboat.

Do you have a gently used bike that you would rather donate than consign? If it is in good working condition we will either donate it, or sell it, and use the proceeds to purchase bikes for good causes. If it needs some work, or you are not sure, take the bike to Wheels Bike Shop, and tell them you want to donate your bike to the Free Wheels program, but want them to check it over 1st. They will then make sure it is safe, and either donate it, or bring to Boomerang to sell.
Help us make a difference in someone’s life today!
We are also proud to announce our partnership with Gear to Grow, a non profit that encourages people to get outdoors by providing gear to non-profits.
The Gear to Grow Program allows outdoor retailers and manufacturers to donate gear for a tax deduction and for the benefit of educating the public and getting more people involved in outdoor recreation. Simply put, we broker gear between the donors and organizations getting people involved in the outdoors. Check them out Gear to Grow
Gear to Grow is a project of the Pacific Mountain Institute
What Boomerang does for Gear to Grow. We do a number of things to help Gear to Grow, and it has in-turn helped the Steamboat Community on many levels. As of the end of April, we have raised over $7000.00 for Gear to Grow, and provided numerous hours of work for a local sewing shop, by having them fix gear that would otherwise be trash. Additionally, when we get bulk gear (especially kids gear) we will sometimes purchase that from a consignor and donate it directly to Gear to Grow.
